OneGoal and Aldine ISD Announce Massive District-Wide Expansion, Setting New National Standard for Postsecondary Advising
HOUSTON, TX, May 12, 2026—OneGoal, a leading education nonprofit dedicated to transforming postsecondary advising and support, and Aldine ISD, announced a major expansion in their partnership, which serves as a powerful model for school districts across the country. Building on a decade of collaboration, the initiative will scale from serving 600 students in the district to reaching approximately 6,000 students annually by the 2026-27 school year, a tenfold increase in impact.
“This district-wide expansion in Aldine is a defining moment for our organization,” said Melissa Connelly, CEO of OneGoal. “By scaling our reach to serve 6,000 students annually in Aldine, we are effectively increasing our direct advising support for students served by more than 50%. This partnership serves as a powerful proof point that when districts and innovators work in lockstep, we can ensure every student has the support they need to navigate their path after high school.”
This district-wide transformation represents a shift in how public school districts can operate, and demonstrates Aldine ISD’s commitment to making high-quality postsecondary planning part of the high school experience. OneGoal’s proven advising and support model will be standard for every junior and senior across seven Aldine ISD high schools: Aldine High School, Blanson Career and Technical Education High School, Carver High School, Davis High School, Eisenhower High School, MacArthur High School, and Nimitz High School.
“When I think about what this expansion means, I think about our students—the ones sitting in classrooms right now with big dreams and even bigger potential,” said Aldine ISD Superintendent Dr. LaTonya M. Goffney. “Expanding OneGoal means more of those students will have a real plan for what comes next. That is what Accelerate is all about: making sure Aldine students walk across that graduation stage not just with a diploma, but with real choices and real opportunities waiting for them.”
The expansion integrates structured postsecondary planning and Texas Success Initiative (TSI) preparation directly into the daily school schedule. This model addresses the national “advising gap,” where research shows that, given the high counselor-to-student ratios, the average high school student typically receives only 38 minutes of college and career support.
A Proven Model for Success
The decision to scale follows years of measurable success within the district:
- Higher Enrollment Rates: In the Class of 2021, 68% of Aldine ISD students who completed OneGoal enrolled in a postsecondary institution, compared to 42% of their peers.
- Statewide Impact: Across Texas, OneGoal graduates enroll at a rate of 74%, significantly outperforming the statewide average of 43% for similar peers.
- Systemic Impact: Nationally, OneGoal students are up to 40% more likely to earn their degrees than students from similar backgrounds, demonstrating the model’s effectiveness across diverse geographies.
“We are turning each student’s ambition into direction,” said Alex Dailey, Executive Director for OneGoal in Texas. “This transition is deeply aligned with our organization’s strategy to transform OneGoal from a ‘lotto ticket’ for some into a standard in postsecondary advising for all. We are proving that systemic change is possible when local expertise meets proven, scalable interventions.”
The expansion is made possible through the Priority Regions Grant, awarded via the Commit Partnership and the Gates Foundation, alongside direct investments from OneGoal.
Looking ahead, OneGoal is prepared to partner with additional schools and districts in 10 states across the US, including Texas, to address their unique postsecondary advising and readiness needs. To learn more about partnering with OneGoal, visit onegoal.org.
