Despite the vast innovation in California, not all communities have benefited from the wealth generated by the technology boom. The Bay Area is home to nine counties and high schools in countless school districts—some of which are the most affluent in the nation. Yet only 44% of Black and 32% of Latino adults have attained an associate’s degree or higher compared to 73% of their white peers. This is not for lack of ambition or talent, but for lack of opportunity and support.

We really just want to make sure students have a plan and that they know how to actualize it. OneGoal provides that tenfold—giving our students and our staff hope, structure and confidence to be the best they can in any arena.
Thanks to the Golden State Warriors Community Foundation and Salesforce, the Hoops 4 Kids program raised $643,000 divided among OneGoal and seven other organizations, making it possible for Bay Area students to pursue their dreams.
We currently partner across multiple counties in the Bay Area, supporting both charter networks and district schools to integrate postsecondary planning into the school day. In the Bay Area, 82% of OneGoal high school graduates enroll in a postsecondary institution and 72% of those persist in their education one year after high school graduation.
We are proud members of the Steering Committee of the Northern California College Promise Coalition, a regional effort to bring together leaders, practitioners and resources and share leadership over the shape of college success efforts in the region. We also partner with two of the Bay Area’s largest four-year institutions, CSU East Bay and San Francisco State, to provide coordinated support to OneGoal students during their first year in college and beyond.
