Today, just 21% of Texas students living in low-income communities obtain a postsecondary degree, compared to 67% of students from our nation’s most affluent communities. This is not for lack of ambition or talent, but for lack of opportunity and support.

OneGoal has impacted every single aspect of how I think about my future. OneGoal has made me both excited and aware of the action I need to take for my future. All of my previous teachers told me that the college process was hard, and that no one was going to “hold my hand.” OneGoal has been holding my hand, while also making me think harder and deeper about what I want.
Making a Difference in Texas
In Texas, 77% of OneGoal high school graduates enroll in a postsecondary institution and 80% of those persist in their education one year after high school graduation. Because we are such a small rural district and wearing so many different hats, I almost said no to partnering with OneGoal because I didn't feel like I had the capacity. But looking back on that day, I realize we would have missed out on so much growth, improvement, and resources if we had said no! So my advice to you is to just do it!
