Texas Southern University and OneGoal Partner to Expand College Access and Success for Houston Students
HOUSTON, TX – March 17, 2026 – Texas Southern University (TSU) and OneGoal have launched a new partnership designed to help more Houston-area students discover the opportunities at TSU and to ensure they have the support they need to enroll, persist, and earn a degree. By aligning TSU’s campus-based resources with OneGoal’s proven model for postsecondary advising and support, the collaboration will create clearer, more seamless pathways from high school to college completion.
“At Texas Southern University, student success is at the heart of everything we do,” said Provost and Sr. Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Carl B. Goodman. “This partnership with OneGoal strengthens our commitment to expanding access, enhancing student support, and ensuring that more students from the Houston area and beyond not only enroll at Texas Southern, but persist and graduate prepared to lead and succeed in their chosen fields.”
OneGoal is a national nonprofit organization dedicated to ensuring every student has the support they need to graduate from high school and complete a postsecondary degree. Working in close partnership with school districts, OneGoal makes postsecondary planning and advising a core part of the high school experience, supporting students in their junior and senior years and into their postsecondary journeys.
“Many OneGoal students from the Houston area attend and succeed at TSU,” said OneGoal Executive Director in Texas, Alex Daily. “But for students who are the first in their families to attend college or those who come from low-income communities, there are barriers to completion. With OneGoal’s proven model of advising and support, this collaboration with TSU will allow us to make OneGoal’s and TSU’s practices even more successful and impactful for these students.”
Through this partnership, Texas Southern University and OneGoal will collaborate to:
- Offer OneGoal students exclusive opportunities to experience TSU’s campus life, faculty and academic programs through a dedicated preview day
- Coordinate retention and advising supports between OneGoal staff and TSU
- Provide targeted transition supports to help students successfully transition from high school to TSU
- Share data and insights to continuously improve student persistence and degree completion
Together, TSU and OneGoal are building a stronger, more connected system that helps Houston students access college and thrive once they get there.
