OneGoal Honored in New York Times Communities Fund Annual Holiday Giving Campaign
Receiving this recognition for the third year, this campaign shares OneGoal’s transformational work in college and career advising with The New York Times’ readers.
NEW YORK, Nov. 20, 2025—OneGoal has been selected as a beneficiary of The New York Times Communities Fund holiday giving campaign to help the organization lead the movement to transform postsecondary advising and support so that all students can reach their greatest college and career aspirations.
For 114 years, The New York Times has coordinated a holiday giving campaign to encourage readers to support people from underserved communities in the US and across the globe. To date, The Fund has raised over $354 million for nonprofit organizations. OneGoal has been supported by the generosity of The Fund since 2023.
“Being included for the third year in a row in the New York Times Communities Fund is an incredible honor, and I’m deeply grateful to the Times and its readers for recognizing the urgency of this work,” Said OneGoal CEO Melissa Connelly. “Their support will help us guide students to discover their unique purpose, explore their aspirations, and find college and career success. Given the rapid changes in the labor market, this work has never felt more important.”
Other organizations recognized by the Communities Fund include Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of New York, Children’s Aid, First Book, UJA-Federation of New York, Per Scholas, and CAMFED. From now until January 15, every gift made directly to OneGoal as part of this campaign will be matched by Phill and Elizabeth Gross, up to $1,000,000.

OneGoal transforms postsecondary advising and support so that every student can define their own future. We’re building a movement with our partners to close the opportunity gap. We work with partner schools and districts to build their knowledge and capacity. The result is more equitable and effective support for all students. Since our inception, OneGoal has reached over 150,000 students with our unique approach, honed over 15 years, prioritizing strong human relationships. And it’s proven to deliver real student impact. 80% of OneGoal high school graduates enroll in a postsecondary institution, and 72% of those who enroll persist one year after high school. An independent study by the University of Chicago found that OneGoal students are up to 40% more likely to earn their postsecondary degrees than students from similar backgrounds.
