The Person
The Technology & Data team exists to partner with OneGoal staff to source, select, build, administer, and support technology that is safe, secure, and user-friendly for staff, teachers, and students alike. The Senior Associate, Salesforce keeps our Salesforce instance, and the broader tech ecosystem that supports it, running smoothly for everyone who relies on it every day. You’ll own the frontline of our support queue, triaging incoming requests and resolving the routine work that keeps our team productive, while building the judgment to take on more complex troubleshooting and defined project work over time. As OneGoal’s tech stack evolves alongside our new strategic plan, this role is expected to grow beyond Salesforce alone, picking up ownership of additional platforms and tools as the team’s needs expand.
You will do this by:
Salesforce Support & Administration (65%)
- Triaging and resolving incoming support requests, including access requests, user setup, routine bulk uploads, and profile changes
- Investigating and resolving report and dashboard errors, data quality issues, and general troubleshooting, escalating more complex issues as needed
- Building and maintaining fields, page layouts, validation rules, automations, and connected app configurations on standard and custom objects to simplify workflows and reduce manual effort for staff
- Supporting general declarative development and configuration as our functionality needs grow
- Providing frontline support for existing tools in our tech ecosystem, including Mainstay, Apsona, FormAssembly, Pardot, and more
Project Support (15%)
- Working closely with product managers, business analysts, and user experience designers to translate their requirements and designs into technical solutions in Salesforce and other business applications
- Contributing to project work directed by senior team members, from early scoping through implementation
- Developing, over time, a deep understanding of program and business needs to support the development of best-fit technical solutions
- Following OneGoal’s established deployment process for all system changes, testing thoroughly before deploying to avoid downstream issues
Tech Stack Growth & Team Collaboration (20%)
- Building familiarity with new tools as they’re added to our tech stack and taking on frontline support for those systems as capacity allows
- Collaborating cross-functionally with other members of the Tech & Data team to align systems and streamline support for end users
- Contributing to documentation and knowledge sharing so support patterns are easy for others to follow
Though the Senior Associate, Salesforce is likely to see themselves in the following examples, these are not requirements. These examples are designed to help you determine if this opportunity aligns with your own passion, purpose, skills, and experiences.
You are comfortable in the gray.
- You’re comfortable with ambiguity and change, and you know the org and tech stack will keep evolving.
- You learn our existing patterns while questioning our assumptions and suggesting better ways of doing things, giving a fresh perspective.
- You’re energized by picking up new tools as our stack grows, not just maintaining what’s already there.
You are a team player others can count on.
- You view your work as connected to the broader Tech & Data team’s success, not just your own queue.
- You know when a question is yours to work through and when it’s worth bringing to your manager or team, and you strike that balance well.
- You consistently complete assigned work at high quality, keep track of your queue, and rarely let things fall through the cracks.
You find the right words for the right audience.
- You adjust your tone and level of detail depending on your audience, whether that’s a teacher troubleshooting a login issue or a teammate reviewing a project plan.
- You document your work clearly so others can follow the patterns you’ve built.
- You proactively seek out the information and context you need rather than guessing.
You are a learner first.
- You see every unfamiliar problem as a chance to build a new skill, and you put in the work to learn rather than staying in your comfort zone.
- You’re comfortable being new to a tool or system, and you’re motivated to keep growing your Salesforce and technical expertise over time.
- You believe in a culture of continuous testing, reflection, and improvement, and you take feedback well and use it to get better.
You are a resourceful problem solver.
- You know how to find good answers on your own, including using the Salesforce community and other expert resources.
- You know when a question calls for an AI tool versus when it calls for a person, and you make that call thoughtfully, using AI to sharpen your work and support our people, not replace judgment or relationships.
- You gather the right information before making a change and test thoroughly before deploying.
Qualifications:
- 1-3 years of experience with Salesforce as an end user, power user, or administrator (Required)
- Salesforce Certified Administrator (Preferred)
- Experience with Nonprofit Success Pack (NPSP) or nonprofit Salesforce environments (Preferred)
- Fundraising and/or Pardot experience (Preferred)
