OneGoal’s Approach to Artificial Intelligence

OneGoal exists to help students define and achieve their dreams for the future. Our work depends on trust: the trust of our students, their families, our school and district partners, and our supporters. As artificial intelligence tools become part of everyday work, we’re committed to using them thoughtfully and transparently, in ways that power human relationships and protect trust, rather than put it at risk.

 

AI can support our staff. It cannot replace them.

We use AI to help our team work more efficiently on tasks like drafting reports, organizing information, and reducing administrative work. This frees up more time for coaching, advising, and relationship-building with students and partners. No technology can replicate that. AI is a tool our staff use; it is never a substitute for the human judgment, empathy, and expertise at the center of our program.

 

We do not put personal information into AI tools.

OneGoal is entrusted with sensitive information about our students, their families, our school district partners, our donors, and our staff. We take that responsibility seriously. Personally identifiable information (often called PII) is never entered into generative AI tools.

 

OneGoal closely monitors all content supported by AI.

We check for accuracy, fairness, and whether content reflects our values, not just whether it reads well. AI does not make final decisions about our students, our programs, or our organization; our people do.

 

We vet every tool before we use it.

Every AI tool used at OneGoal is reviewed by our Technology and Legal teams before adoption to confirm it meets our standards for data protection, security, and appropriate use. AI is not used in settings where confidentiality is essential.

 

We’ll keep being transparent about this.
