Location: Atlanta, GA | Please Note: this role is part of the OneGoal team in Atlanta, GA and is a hybrid team– working both in-person and via home office. The person in this position will be required to work in-person 2-3 times a week on average, must be located in the Metro Atlanta area by their start date, and have the ability to be in-person as needed (in office and at stakeholder engagements).
Salary Range: $112,000-$130,000

The Person
As Head of Development, you, alongside the Executive Director, will be responsible for setting the vision and strategy for our Metro Atlanta region. You’re chiefly responsible for ensuring strong execution of our development strategy ultimately resulting in meeting or exceeding annual fundraising goals. You will build an increasingly diverse portfolio of foundation, corporate and individual givers that allows OneGoal to meet its ambitious growth goals and impact evermore students across the state of Georgia. Annual fundraising targets are likely to range from $1.1M to 1.5M in the coming 2 years.
The Head of Development reports to the Executive Director, will directly manage the Director of Development, sits on the regional leadership team and works directly with internal and external stakeholders, including the board, to ensure our region meets our near and long-term fundraising goals.
The Head of Development is responsible for the following key work to support the Georgia Development team’s ability to meet our ambitious goals.
Setting Strategic Vision and Direction (20%):
- In collaboration with the Executive Director, build mid-range goals, strategies, and campaigns across foundation, corporate, individual funding streams.
- In partnership with the Georgia Leadership Team, design innovative strategies to influence and motivate new and existing external constituents to invest in our work, raising ~$850,000 in FY26, and building a pipeline to ~$1.1M in FY27.
- Use Metro Atlanta landscape data (donor market, post secondary landscape, education landscape, economic, philanthropic market) to inform goals and strategy to meet all development KPIs.
Development Operations (70%) (Independently and through management of Director of Development)
- Maintain Salesforce to ensure accurate understanding of progress to goal and portfolio management
- Design and execute strategies and tactics that secure funds in foundation, corporate, and individual funding streams either through direct execution, leveraging the executive director and/or delegating to director of development.
- Translate organization’s vision and direction into local case for support
- Maintain grants calendar, craft foundation proposals and reports
- Significant donor prospecting + relationship mapping in order to increase donor pipeline
- Tee up/prepare ED for donor meetings and engagements
- Donor meetings and cultivation (with ED and sometimes independently)
- Design and execute strategic development events
- Design and deliver corporate funding pitches
- Create impact reports
- Ensure timely and effective outbound communication that tells our story and brings in champions
Collaborating by Serving on the OneGoal Georgia Leadership Team (10%)
- Serve as an active member of the regional Leadership Team, helping to set the vision and direction for the region, steward culture and ensure team is always up to date with progress to goal in development and their roles
- Leverage local team as thought partners to advance your scope of work and ensure regional alignment and cross-department collaboration across the region
- Collaborate with national development team colleagues, as well as our national marketing and communications team.
- Serve as a people manager and adhere to manager responsibilities, coaching and developing direct report.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree (Required)
- 3-5 years development experience (Required)
- Previous management experience (Preferred)
- Demonstrated experience managing fundraising targets of $500K and above (Highly Preferred)
- Understanding of the Metro Atlanta/Georgia philanthropic and education landscape (Preferred)
- Willingness to travel to external stakeholders across Metro Atlanta (Required)
