We're excited to kick-off a month of action for Sport for Development 1-31 May. The month of action is a collaborative effort of One Goal core partners to highlight Sport for Development issues and programs combining the attention on sport and health in global events in May.
Together, we aspire to change the future for the world’s next generation through the unique power of Sport--the language that knows no boundaries.
Each week in May will highlight a theme within Sport for Development shining light on the importance and impact of Sport to inspire and mobilise change locally, nationally and internationally for the betterment of society and child well-being.
1-7 May: Initiatives and programs in Sport for development
8-15 May: Sports—an investment in health, well-being and happiness
16-21 May: Girl Power in Play—when girls have access to sport, every one wins
22-28 May: How sports are championing change
29-31 May: Tackling issues in sport and health through multi-sector collaboration and partnerships
How can you get involved?
Join One Goal’s May month of action for Sport for Development by following the movement all month long online. Every week there will be a key action coinciding with the week’s theme that invites you to learn about Sport for Development, engage in important conversation, participate in sport, and advocate for sports access, organization of grassroots sporting activities, and child health for all.
You can also write and publish your own stories about how Sport has changed your life. Has participating in Sport given you confidence? Encouraged you to exercise and stay active? Taught you about living a healthy lifestyle? Is Sport an opportunity for all in your community, or only some? How have you gone about or wanted to break the mold? Submit your stories to email@example.com for us to share, or post them on social media in the month of May with hashtag #OneGoalMovement.
Follow One Goal on Facebook.com/OneGoal and @OneGoalMovement on Twitter from 1-31 May for stories, photo, video and opportunities to make a difference for the next generation through Sport.
