The first Sports For Development Conference organised by the AFC and One Goal in conjunction with the 2014 AFC Women's Asian Cup final was hosted in Ho Chi Minh City, 23-24 May 2014. The Conference brought together NGOs, sporting agencies, corporates, AFC member associations, sport for development community-based organisations, and government bodies to discuss nutrition, women in development, grassroots football for girls in Asia, and the opportunistic role of sports, football, and partnerships in development.
